Hey, it’s Scott from Skin Suite Medical Aesthetics, and if you are wondering whether you need a lip flip or lip filler, I’m here to help answer that question for you.
A lip flip is really great for someone who notices that when they smile, their top lip flips under, right? So the lip flip relaxes the muscles of the lip that will expose more of the tissue so that when you smile, your lip doesn’t disappear. It actually appears fuller. That’s not to say that lip filler wouldn’t help with that. It probably wouldn’t give you the results that you’re looking for, especially if you’re more concerned about the disappearance of your top lip.

But what lip filler will do is it’ll take your lips and make them a lot more voluptuous, if that’s what you want, or it’ll make your lips appear more smooth, right? So more hydrated, more just… you just remove some of the wrinkles in your lips, which is also good for anti-aging. So that’s what a lip filler would help with.
Now in terms of discomfort, you really shouldn’t be uncomfortable getting either one of those things. If I know that you have an intolerance to needles, I have numbing cream to help with that process. But both should be pretty painless and both really don’t take very much long or much time. A lip flip will take probably like five to ten minutes. The filler is more extensive just because I’m making sure that your lips are completely numb and then just making sure that you’re comfortable with the size and volume and we’re achieving our particular goals. That also takes time. But for the most part, you’re not gonna be more than 30-45 minutes for each.
